There is something about a swimming pool that instantly puts you in holiday mode. A morning swim before breakfast, a refreshing dip after exploring Franschhoek, or simply spending a lazy afternoon by the water with a good book and a glass of local wine, , or taking one last dip as the sun sets over Franschhoek (you can check the sunset times here).
And now, there is even more reason to enjoy the pool at Maison la Bruyère: our swimming pool is heated.
The new heating system keeps the water at a pleasant temperature, extending those wonderful poolside moments beyond the height of summer.
More Months, More Pool Time
Franschhoek is famous for its beautiful sunny days, but outside the warmest summer months, mornings and evenings can be wonderfully crisp. Our new pool heating system makes swimming much more inviting during these cooler periods.
It means you can enjoy the pool for more of the year — whether you visit us in spring, autumn or during one of those beautiful winter days when the sun comes out over the Franschhoek mountains.
Slow Mornings and Long Afternoons
We designed Maison la Bruyère as a place where you can truly spend time together. The pool sits at the heart of our outdoor living space, directly in front of the covered veranda.
Start your day with a swim, enjoy breakfast outside and decide what the rest of the day will bring. Perhaps a wine tasting, lunch at one of Franschhoek’s wonderful restaurants — or perhaps nowhere at all.
Sometimes, staying at the house is exactly the plan.
Your Own Franschhoek Retreat
For families, groups of friends or couples travelling together, the heated pool adds another little touch of comfort to your stay.
Combine it with a long lunch on the veranda, light the braai in the evening, or simply sit beside the water as the mountains change colour.
More swimming, more relaxing and even more reason to make Maison la Bruyère your home in Franschhoek.
You can also reach out and contact us if you want more information about the house, Franschhoek or anything else we can help you with.

P.s. If you still find the pool to cold, you can also heat our hottub yourself by burning some wood 🙂
